WHO ARE WE

We are a group of God fearing and fun loving people of college age that gather together through various activities, while learning more about God and how HE wants to navigate our lives.

Whether you’ve been in church your entire life or walking in the door for the first time, whether you're a college student, just trying to make plans for work or school, or still trying to figure things out... if you are of college-age then this is the place for you!

We'd love to meet you, hang out with you, help you navigate things and do life together with you, the way God intended.

We love to gather at various loctaions around Orlando Fl. to have fun together. Many of the activities are outdoors but sometimes we just like to get together for a cook out or pizza party.

GETTING TOGETHER

In addition to fun outdoor activities we also like to gather for fellowship at least twice per month. This is a platform to, navigate life, minister, and join up with people who believe in Christ. The gathering usually takes place on a bi-weekly basis and is held at appointed locations with a designated leadership couple responsible for coordinating the group.

We have dozens of members from all different colleges and universities. Some of our members are of college age but  actually work full time instead of going to school. Even though we do big functions together every month, we also divide up into smaller groups for Bible Study and fellowship twice a month.

LEADERSHIP

We have so many members that there are three couples as mentors to keep things organized! We often meet up at our mentors homes in groups or sometimes sometimes we just go grab coffee with them. The mentors are here to guide us through challenges of modern day college life while staying grounded in the teachings of Christ. 

We have been married for over 20 years.  We have four outstanding sons.  Two of them are currently attending UCF and the other 2 are in high school.  We have been members of Genesis church for over seven years.  Jeff is one of the elders of the church and Kim also serves as a high school leader.  We are both native Floridians as Jeff was born and raised in Orlando and Kim was born and raised in Ocala.  We have been on several mission trips to Brazil.  We felt God lay on our hearts to help lead a college-age life group.  

Feliciano and Alicia Nunez are married with three beautiful children. Alexia (seventh grade), Jayden (12th grade), and Cameron (college age). Alicia works as a nurse practitioner and Feliciano is a software developer at the University of Central Florida. The Nunez Family has been members of Genesis church for the past seven years. They have been volunteering with the church for the past six years.

Alicia has volunteered specifically in student ministry with middle and high school students. Whereas Feliciano volunteers with the technical aspects including computer, sound, camera, and lights. Both have attended many mission trips with the student ministry including three Atlanta trips, Rush camp, and most recently Camp Bahamas mission trip. “We love these kids like our own and we love doing life with them. We want to create an environment in which they feel comfortable coming to us regardless of the situation they’re in and know they will be loved”.

John and Traci are married with 2 daughters, Bella and Brooklyn. They were both born and raised in Florida. John grew up right here in Christmas, Florida and Traci in Fort Lauderdale. They have been members of Genesis Church since 2018 and both serve in Guest Relations. Traci also serves with our elementary students. John and Traci started Genesis’ online merch store and handle all things merchandise.  Both John and Traci have a passion for serving and leading kids.
